Picture of the Week for 25 July 2013: Thatched Cottage at South Mundham, Sussex, C1956

We lived in this beautiful cottage for several months when I was six or seven . We also lived in a bungalow near Aldershot, a large detatched house beside a railway line near Gatwick, a suburban semi in Chichester, a railway carriage on the beach at West Wittering and my grandparents' Colt house at Bosham - all before I was eight.

As my father was in the army, settling anywhere permanently was not on the cards.
